JazzCash pays any WAPDA distribution company bill from your phone in under two minutes. The wallet covers LESCO, MEPCO, FESCO, IESCO, GEPCO, PESCO, TESCO, HESCO, SEPCO and QESCO, and the payment clears against your 14-digit reference number. So there is no queue at the bank and no trip to the DISCO office.
You can pay from your own JazzCash balance inside the app, or hand cash to a JazzCash agent and let them process it. This guide covers the app method step by step, then the fees, limits and receipts that keep your payment safe.
Before you start
- Your 14-digit reference number, printed on the top-left of your electricity bill.
- The JazzCash app installed, with your account verified using your CNIC and mobile number.
- Enough balance in your JazzCash wallet to cover the bill, or cash if you pay through an agent.
- A stable internet connection on your phone.
Step-by-step
- 1
Open the JazzCash app and log in
Launch JazzCash and sign in with your MPIN or fingerprint. New users register first with a Jazz or Warid number and CNIC.
- 2
Tap 'Bill Payments' on the home screen
From the dashboard, select the Bill Payments tile. It groups every utility you can pay through the wallet.
- 3
Choose 'Electricity' and select your company
Pick Electricity, then choose your distribution company, for example LESCO, MEPCO or IESCO. The reference number only works under its own DISCO, so pick the right one.
- 4
Enter your 14-digit reference number
Type the reference number exactly as printed, with no spaces. Tap Inquire so JazzCash pulls the current amount and due date from the billing system.
- 5
Check the amount and due date
JazzCash shows the payable amount, the bill month and the due date it fetched. Compare these against your paper bill before you continue.
- 6
Confirm and pay from your wallet
Tap Pay, then confirm with your MPIN. The amount leaves your JazzCash balance and the bill is marked paid.
- 7
Save the confirmation and transaction ID
JazzCash shows a success screen and sends an SMS with a Transaction ID. Screenshot it. Keep it until your next bill shows the amount cleared.
Fees, limits & timing
| Service fee (wallet payment) | Rs 0 in most cases |
| Agent-assisted payment | Small agent commission may apply |
| Daily transaction limit | As per your account level (KYC) |
| Time to clear | Usually instant to a few hours |
Tips & things to watch
- Pay at least one day before the due date so the payment clears before the late surcharge is added.
- If money leaves your wallet but the bill still shows unpaid, do not pay again. Keep the Transaction ID and call JazzCash helpline 4444.
- Confirm the DISCO name. A LESCO reference paid under MEPCO will fail or mispost.
