Reference number

Check your bill by reference number

Your electricity bill carries a 14-digit reference number on the top-left corner. That number is the only thing you need to open the current bill or reprint an old one. It stays the same every month, so note it once and you are set.

  • 1Look at the top-left of any past bill for the 14-digit number.
  • 2Type it into the bill checker and press check.
  • 3Read the amount, due date, units and billing month.
  • 4Print the bill or save a PDF for your record.

Understanding your electricity bill

Four numbers matter most on any DISCO bill. Here is what each one means.

Units consumed

The kilowatt hours you used this month. This drives which tariff slab you land in.

Amount payable

Electricity cost plus fixed charges, taxes, PTV fee and any fuel price adjustment.

Due date

Pay by this date. Miss it and a late surcharge of about 10 percent is added.

Arrears

Any unpaid amount from earlier months, carried forward onto the current bill.

FAQs

Common questions

Pick your electricity company, enter the 14-digit reference number from a previous bill, and press check. The current amount, due date, units consumed and billing month load on screen for every major DISCO including LESCO, MEPCO, FESCO and IESCO.

The reference number is a 14-digit code printed on the top-left of your electricity bill that identifies your meter and connection. It stays fixed month to month, so you enter it once to view any current or past bill.

You can check bills for all 11 DISCOs: LESCO, MEPCO, FESCO, IESCO, GEPCO, PESCO, TESCO, HAZECO, HESCO, SEPCO and QESCO. Each company has its own page with a bill form and local details.

Yes, viewing your bill is completely free. You only pay the bill amount itself through your bank, mobile wallet or the company's payment counter.

Yes. Once the bill loads you can print it or save it as a PDF using the download button on the result card. The printed copy is accepted at bank counters for payment.

Double-check that all 14 digits are correct and match the reference number on your latest bill. If it still does not load, a new connection may not have generated its first bill yet, or the company portal may be briefly down. Try again after a few minutes.

Enter your reference number, then press print or save on the result card to produce a duplicate bill. The copy matches the original, costs nothing, and is accepted at bank counters for payment.

A higher bill usually means more units, a jump into a higher tariff slab, or a fuel price adjustment added by NEPRA. Compare this month's units against last month's on the bill to see which one moved.

Yes. Pay through Easypaisa, JazzCash, internet banking or any bank branch using the reference number on your bill. The payment clears against the same number you use to check the bill here.

A protected consumer is a household that stays under 200 units a month for six consecutive months and so pays the lowest tariff rate. Cross that limit and the connection moves to unprotected rates, which are higher.

Nationwide coverage

Check electricity bills online for every DISCO in Pakistan

Pakistan runs eleven state distribution companies, and each one issues a monthly bill you can open online with a 14-digit reference number. LESCO covers central Punjab, MEPCO the south, IESCO Islamabad and Rawalpindi, PESCO Peshawar, and HESCO, SEPCO and QESCO stretch across Sindh and Balochistan.
